Pillow Talk

For the longest time I have been wanting to replace the pillows on my couches in the family room. But I've been putting it off since it is so expensive. I finally decided to try my hand at making my own. I have quilted before so I'm not entirely brand new to sewing, but it was years ago. I've found numerous tutorials on how to sew throw pillows and it doesn't seem too hard, so hopefully I can pull it off!

Here are my top picks for my fabric choices right now. I definitely know I want to mix prints but I'm having a hard time narrowing them down. Let me know which prints you like best together and which are your favorites!

I love #7. The print reminds me of something Japanese and of a skirt that I have. I like it combined with #6 or #3.

love #5 and # 3!

I would pick #3 & #5 or #3 & #6. Love the colors together. I think the green pops nicely against the navy/black.

I love when you do posts about home decor!! And I'm impressed that you're going to make your own pillows - you have to post a pic when you're done!

I love colors and variety (I like having all different pillows!), so if it were me, I'd go with 5 and 6 or 4 and 6 for the bright fun pops of color, and then add 3 and 7 for the texture. I'm a big fan of 3 as a grounding texture - it's simple and classic against 3, 5, or 6!

I guess it just depends on what you'd like! You could go crazy and try four or more, or you could be sweet and simple and do just two when it comes to pattern mixing! Great fabric picks, I love them!

Good luck with your project! :)

I love throw pillows! We had these horrible Aztec-style ones on our couch forever, and I was so excited to finally get new pillows. I went crazy at Pottery Barn, hahaha, because we got a gift card there for our wedding.

My favorites would be 4 and 5 together or 3 and 7. Or 3 and 6. I guess I'm not that much of a help! My absolute fav is 5!

SO hard to choose...my favorite combo would include 3, 6 and 7. No one said you could only use two! I like a few extras to throw around so you could do three patterns to mix it up even more! They're all great patterns though---great taste you have! =) And my goodness, how domestic are you? That's awesome!

I love 3 and 6 together. They really compliment each other well because the scales of the two are so different. I really like the bright bold print with the dots AND the one with the dots picks up the dots in the other!

These are all so gorgeous! I love your taste. And like Rachel, I also like 3 and 6 together. Chic in black and white, with just the right amount of chartruse to spice it up!

And sewing pillows is a great way to save money!

I love mixing patterns, but don't have the eye for it. I love fabrics 4, 5, 6 & 7. 6 is my favorite of the whole bunch!
